This, That and the Other Thing.

We had a fabulous weekend celebrating a 30th birthday!
We drank a lot, played flip cup and beer pong, ate Red Velvet cupcakes, ate too many crawfish with taters, mushrooms and corn...the list goes on. Am I ever going to grow up? I think not.
K turned 30 and she is preggers, so we wanted to make sure she had a fabulous birthday! E and I gifted her this fabulous Kendra Scott Dani ring:
I made her red velvet cupcakes that were to die for good. You know I love cupcakes, so I jumped on the wagon when I asked to make dessert. I found the recipe on my All-Recipes App on the iPhone. It didn't disappoint and the best thing...it had a cream cheese icing recipe to go with them. I wish I took a picture, but I wasn't in the picture taking mood.
All in all it was a fun-filled weekend with dear friends.

The start of our beer pile. It was filled with over 70 beer cans\bottles by night's end.
I cannot wait to have my beer pong partner back. (I had to drink all the beer since she is preggers, but I forced her to play with me so I would win, terrible.)
This beer is sooo good! I am not sure if you can find it outside of Austin, but if you see it Buy.It.
How great is this? My girlfriends use gloves to eat crawfish...I mean, who wants to mess up their manicured nails? Obvs not these girls.

I love making memories.

Celebrations.

Living in Austin is down right fun, but it can be down right tiring too. We have two huge, music\film festivals every year. ACL and SouthXSouthWest. Well, SXSW was the past two weeks and to say there were hundreds of thousands of people invading our city would be an understatement. There were sooo many people, sooo much booze, sooo much music and sooo much fun!
Friday started with burgers, beer and basketball at a local pub!
Then we went to listen to live music

I look like I am about to spew everywhere. :)
Saturday- We decided we were going to celebrate St Paddy's day with a BANG! We got dressed in green and headed to the bus stop that takes us right downtown and is within walking distance from our house.
And- it all began. Everyone in green, everyone drinking drinks, fun all the way around. Doesn't get much better...I must say.
His wifey is preggers and is one of my BFFs so we sent her this picture to let her know We love her!
I look so sober.
Um ladies, he is single. Is a pilot. Is one of my hubby's best friends. Any takers?
Love this girl. Missing our partner in crime.
I think this was the $100 dollar we spent. ha.
Everyone takes elevator pictures.
Ladies man.
My husband has the nicest legs. Hands down.
Jared wants YOU as president.

Marley was depressed he didn't get to dye his hair green and come celebrate the Lucky Irish with all of us.
I need water.

Sunday Funday.

Saturday was the baby shower and it was a huge success although it was a tad bit pricey, but definitely worth it. The Texas Tea Embassy is so precious with a vintage feel and great tasting teas. I drank each kind, but my favorite definitely was "Wedding Cake." I am bummed because all the pictures I took were extremely blurry. Fail.
I made the cupcakes and they were heaven-ish! Next time, I will cook them for about five minutes less to ensure the tops aren't dry. I really am thinking about selling cupcakes! It's something I really enjoy and really am good at...probably because I love food.
So presh.
Moving right along. Sunday our friends agreed to cook 700 pounds of crawfish at a local bar, The Blind Pig. There were so many crawdiddys it really isn't funny. The owner picked them up at the airport yesterday morning. G and J did an awesome job and they tasted amazing. I have to say that Sunday Funday is really fun until the alarm clock goes off on Monday morning. Le Sigh...
We drank way too much tequila and beer. Ate way too much. E and my tummies weren't feeling so hot last night, so we both slept like shizz. I cannot wait to go home...eat soup, take a hot bath and lay on our couch.
Picture overload:

My motto:
Work hard. Play harder.

Kite Festival.

I love our city, Austin. It's by far the best city in Texas because there is constantly something going on that will involve fun times, outside and a lot of people.
This weekend happened to be home to Kite Festival 2012. It was on Sunday and let me say- we had no idea how crowded this event was going to be this year. We woke at 6am, set out of the house at 630 to pick up the trailer and all the ice, to be set up no later than 9am. When we arrived at Zilker, we were able to pick out a killer spot that would enable us to sell the shizz out of our product. We had an ice cream place and a smoothie place on the other side and we killed them until we ran out of product then the ice cream place had a lengthy line. It was a great event and yes- Austin is weird and yes- we have festivals for things like Kites, Reggae music and let's not forget Eyore's birthday. Duh.
There were probably 30K people there...all flying kites. Incredible.

Our employee trying to fly her pirate ship, hysterical.
 The beginning.
Mid afternoon. Tons and Tons of people. Tons and Tons of kites.
AND, look at this bull dog. His name is Murphy and he gets pushed in a stroller because him's gets too tired. Ha. So presh!
As the sun was setting- a glimpse of kites stuck in the Zilker trees.
 Oaks of Austin.
I am grateful to call Austin home. I am sun-kissed and wind-kissed, but wouldn't change a thing about my Sunday.

And I laughed.

Last week was stressful, but our weekend was nothing but fantastic- Thank Heavens!
Friday, started with Marley having issues with his eye and ended with just finding out he has an ulcer on the eyeball caused from a cut caused from running into something. Poor booger. I love his ophthalmologist so much! He was writing Mars' report and said..."put the ointment in his left eye...oh yea, he only has one eye, so I guess I don't need to continue to write that. " Ha. So true.
On our way to see Dr. Schfrin.
He needs a hair cut, but we love him scruffy.
Look how thorough his eye doc is...fo real...my doctor's reports aren't even like this...lucky SOB this mutt is I must say:
Ice Guy was invited to the University of Texas mascot halftime game. Let me say we have a dear friend that is the perfect person under our mascot outfit. This was hysterical to see all the mascots playing 4 on 4. And- I laughed hysterically while re-watching this vid.

I surprised E with a 75 minute massage and dinner at ZTejas on Saturday after the game. It was an early Heart Day celebration. Both of us definitely needed a rub down. :)
Sunday was spent grocery shopping, lounging, eating trail mix, doing laundry, enjoying a fire and a bit of snow, topped off with a few too many bevs at a local restaurant for a friend's birthday!

I am ready for Friday!

Oh the weekend.

We had a fabulous weekend that started with getting our hair did! I am so grateful to have a dear, sweet friend that colors my hair on the cheap. She also cuts E's hair perfectly which typically hasn't happened in the past by other hair dressers. Is that what they are called or stylists?
Anyhow, I can now wear my fro down without being self-conscious about my roots being terrible! I really just need to bite the bullet and see T every three weeks...I am in denial.
We were out most of the weekend which was a-ok with moi because I get tired of the normal lay around and feel lazy on the weekends.
Our weekend in Instagram Pictures:
We have cameras at Rita's and finally were able to get them working again on our phones. Creepy, eh?
Front of house
Meet Ice Guy. I love mascots! We are going to be attending the UT Mascot Basketball game, so he was practicing. :)
Oh heavens! Found this on Pinterest and it is delish! Peanut Butter and Nanner French toast
 Black and Tan anyone?
Black and tan gone? Of course.
My fav- Miss Stella.
Sunday we attended a Super Bowl Party, but I didn't take any pictures, Lame.

Lovely weekend and I am sad it's Monday. Come. On. Friday.

3 pounds.

Weight is a constant struggle for me, it always has been and always will be. I really hate it, but most days I accept the fact this is my fate. My family isn't "fat," but just big people. My Mom pushes 6 feet, my Dad and brother are both giants, but they aren't "fat." As children, we ate well and most of the time we ate at home. I recall as a child loving when my Dad went hunting for the weekend because that meant we got to eat Ninfa's on Sunday after church. My parents made home cooked meals and we ALWAYS, ALWAYS had a salad with dinner: This is why I truly believe that a lot of things are genetic. We cannot change our genetics we can only try to make the best decisions that will benefit us and work with our genetics rather than go against them. Well- this weekend I am pretty sure I gained back the 3 pounds I lost last week causing me to go against my 'fat' genetics. Winning. Failing. I am an avid calorie counter...I use www.myfitnesspal.com to track my exercise and calories. The only problem- I don't have much to track when I drink:

A whole six pack on Friday night.
A whole bottle on Saturday night:
WTH is wrong with me? I mean, I love me some alcohol, but this weekend was off the charts. I woke up with a hangover two days in a row. I didn't even see the doors of the gym all weekend. I didn't eat food except for Taco Cabana at 1am on Saturday. I need to put this ole' gal in check or into AA.

It's Friday, Friday...gotta get down on Friday.

It's Friday and every Friday I like to think about Rebecca Black's "Friday" song...that dreadful-most-annoying-song-ever-made, but for some reason it makes me laugh and puts me in a delightful mood.
I swear this week lasted forever!
Anyhoo, guess what I haven't done today? I haven't check the bank account...go me. Guess what I did do today? I went and got...
I have to watch my sugar intake so I always get just a one pump, nonfat latte with no whip. It was delish!

Last night, Marley thought it would be cool to wear E's Rita's shirt, chill and naw on his beloved pig skin bone. Isn't he seriously the cutest one-eyed dog you have ever seen?

We had frat party at Rita's...I want to be in college again. We believe it was an academic fraternity or a Christian fraternity? Do you call a greek organization that accepts men and women a frat? Not sure, but whatever. They filled our parking lot, chatted and bought a ton of shizz.

This weekend UT plays BYU in Austin. Let's be honest- I.AM.NERVOUS. I really don't want to have a losing season because that's never fun. I am going to buy my burnt orange dress today and will be rocking our Rita's cart with a dress and cowgirl boots, what-what. That's how we do it...Here's to Friday!
