Thoughts.

I have been away from blog land due to:
-Crazy work
-Rita's is totally ramping up
-Yard work
-Partying
-Sleeping
-Did I mention, Work.

But, alas, I am here and I want to document my thoughts on this May day.
Last night my BIL called and told E to put the Television on because Obama was going to make a special news appearance. We quickly learned that Osama Bin Laden (Osama and Obama sound too much alike!) had perished in Pakistan. The United States military had taken over a compound in Pakistan and killed the #1 Most Wanted man in the world. Sounds good, right? Here are my thoughts:

-Why wouldn't Obama say the Navy Seals went into the compound, had a gun fight and in the end carried Osama's dead body to the helicopters? Why can't they get the credit they deserve? They are the ones who put their lives on the line. They put their families' lives on the line. Now, we know they Navy Seals are the military special ops group that carried out the plan and killed Osama.
-Wouldn't you rather have seen him alive and captured? I would. I would like to see him suffer and feel the pain of the thousands and thousands of people he hurt throughout his life. He was shot once in the head and felt no pain. To me, that's sad.
-Why is the President taking credit? Republican or Democrat, the President only gives the mission of "GO!" His military intelligence group are the people responsible for researching, talking to couriers, sending Predator drones into the sky for intel, sending military troops into Pakistan, formulating the final plan on how to kill Osama and the list continues. Give credit where credit is due.
-Media tunnels such as CNBC, MSNBC and Fox News are a joke. Listen to NPR.
--What about the #2 man that has taken over for Osama the past 5 years? Where is he? Oh yea, Alive. How is the war on terror going to be even close to over when someone like him is still in power?
-We will never know the full true story. We will never know who took the final shot. We will never know how Pakistan supposedly knew nothing of the attack, however, never sent air defense missles into the sky when American helicopters were hovering the sky. We will never know a lot of things to include if Osama was really buried at sea or if he is on an airplane headed back to the United States. One thing I do know, I am proud of the Navy Seals and cannot fathom the thoughts and feelings of that Special Ops group. To that I say, Here's to them!
