Marley for Prez.

The election is over...thank Heavens! Perhaps, I can go on Facebook without getting angry. Scratch that...I just did - bad idea. Just one comment - Are we in 2012? Do people really think it's black vs white?
Marley for President.
Moving right along...
My Mom has had a tumor on her face\neck\jaw for a very long time. We thought she had it removed a few years ago, but it grew back. Now we know, it probably was not fully removed years ago and I want her to sue the doctor, but I am mean and my Mom is nice. Long story short, she had surgery on Monday. I balled like a baby on Sunday when she told me we actually didn't know if it was malignant or benign. Sunday night and Monday were pretty much the most anxious I have been in a very long time...so much so I had a terrible migraine. Good news is...
All I have to say is the original doctor is very lucky because I might hire a lawyer myself if the outcome was different.
Because of this surgery, my parents had to cancel a trip to Chicago. I didn't even really think about E and I taking the trip instead because you know we don't have two HUGE trips coming in December or anything. But we aren't talking about that. I asked E to see about free plane tickets. Scored those. Received a discount code from a friend for a hotel. Scored that. So, we are going to Chi-town. I am over the moon excited!
Lists anyone?
We are going to eat at some fabulous restaurants, walk the Magnificent Mile, visit Millennium Park, see Wrigley Field, Navy Pier and lastly, see the Texans whoop the Bears on Sunday! Anything else I need to add to the list? Favorite restaurants? Hot dogs? Pizza? It's going to be cold and that just makes me elated.
The next two months are so busy and I am forever grateful for that especially since Mama bear is cancer free.

Back in the neighborhood.

We had a blast in San Diego and glad we only had a two day-at-the-office work week. I did work a couple of days whilst in San Diego, but I cannot complain at all since we had a lot of free time to do what we wanted and it was paid for by my company.
We absolutely love San Diego, but absolutely hate the price of food and alcohol! It's an expensive place to visit and I cannot imagine having to live there and pay those prices. It's a beautiful city that is filled with lots of adorable dogs too. I swear, everyone has at least one dog and most likely more than one. One really ugly thing about San Diego are the homeless. I am not trying to be rude or mean, but the city really needs to do something about it. These people squat everywhere and have their belongings strapped to a tree all throughout the city. At 715 at night, we walked past a man who was peeing on a tree!!! Some parts of the city smell like pee and I am sure it's because of men like this as well as the animal population. There was a lady that took a shizz on the sidewalk next to our hotel, Hotel Indigo which is really nice, as well. It seems to me they have a serious problem with this and allow a little too much...I digress.
We ate some delicious food! E played a couple of golf courses to include Torrey Pines. We visited the beaches of Del Mar, La Jolla and Coranado. We walked the entire city to Little Italy. Received a massage. Drank drinks. Slept through the night (rare occurrence). I worked (have to throw that in there). All in All had we had a nice little getaway to refresh our bodies!

Staten Island, I mean California.

I am in Temecula, California for the week and let me just say I feel like I am in Staten Island, NY. Fo-realz. It definitely doesn't have the Cali appeal you see in San Diego. It's about an hour and a half north of San Diego and I am really wishing it was more like right down the street. I am in training for the week and I am ready to get home. I am pathetic. I just love my bed, my husband, my dog and my house...oh let's not forget about my car.
Hertz gave me a car that is about to fall apart, swear. It reeks of cigarette smoke and just nasty.
My hotel actually is nice and modern, but my room is facing I-15. Fail.
I love this mirror. That's the bathroom light!
I did catch a glimpse of pretty scenery this morning on my way driving people off the rode to get my Starbucks.
I have to work at night after training because...well- I just need to get some shizz done.
I found the nearest In N Out burger.
Whataburger is so much better!
To kill time, I went and got a manicure and pedicure. I have to say it was full of Staten Island-ish gals. It was bizarre. I love my nail color though.

Pretties.
I can't wait to stay in SD on Thursday night. Perhaps, a facial, a glass of wine, my Kindle and a nice dindin alone will be in the future.

NYC Recap.

My mom and I had the best trip to the Big Apple. We ate, drank and shopped way too much. We went sight-seeing, walked a long ways, laughed, chatted, people watched, drank Starbucks, rode in taxis and saw a couple of shows. It was such a memorable trip I will remember the rest of my life.
(Picture over load)
Radio City Music Hall- Beautifully decorated!
Spagetti and Meatballs at Carmine's. The best meal of the whole trip!
View of the city from Battery Park. Spectacular weather!
 Hey there lil fellow.
My favorite pic of the Statue.
NYC from Statue of Liberty Island.
The building in the center is the new World Trade Center.
Original baskets brought from immigrants to Ellis Island.
Original bench the immigrants sat and waited on for their number to be called. Unreal.
People actually buy these hats...hideous. And no, we didn't purchase this. Just laughed.
Occupy Wall Street movement. This guy was scary looking.
It wouldn't be a successful trip without cannolis. I die.
 I would shop here everyday.
McSorley's. The oldest Irish Pub in NYC. You ask for a light ale and they give you two beers. Fantastic!
9\11 Memorial. My Dad's good friend transported these trees. Serene, for sure.
The 1 acre pools at the Memorial.
 NYP and my Mom. Presh.
 OMG. Lombardi's pizza =  Heaven.
Fashion in NYC. Don't think my Mom didn't buy those mink boot covers! ha.
Brunch at the Plaza.
Inside Macy's. Believe that we shopped our hearts out.
The Macy's window. I will have to upload the video. These Christmas windows were absolutely fabulous!
Tiffany's window. Pictures definitely don't do it justice.
My mom and I.

This trip was an absolute dream come true!
